Travel Germany Tours

Tour Conditions & General Information

We at Travel Germany Tours are thrilled that you are considering traveling with us on one of our tours. We love to travel and enjoy new experiences. Our main goal is to have a safe, enjoyable, enlightening tour. We want you to join us again and again. We've tried to cover the main points of concern, however, we encourage your questions or comments. You can reach us at fcolter@charter.net or at 1-618-667-4625 or 1-618-980-6999. Our mailing address is: Travel Germany, P O Box 272, Troy, IL 62294.

Tour Escort and Guide: My name is Fran Colter. I will personally meet you at the agreed upon airport and be your tour guide on every tour. I previously lived in Germany and returned to tour Germany many times. I am getting more fluent in German on an ongoing basis. I have studied German in the Fall 2003 at the Goethe Institut in Prien, Germany. Previously, I took several German classes at the local Junior College. This is not a job but rather a dream come true for me. Come enjoy the dream.

Deposit and Final Payment: A deposit of $500.00 per person is required to guarantee space on any requested tour. Deposit is due at the time reservation is made. Checks or money orders are accepted. Full payment must be made upon receipt of final invoice approximately 60 days prior to departure. Payments are payable to Travel Germany, P O Box 272, Troy, IL 62294

Hotel Accommodations: We will stay at 3-Star hotels and inns. Not all hotels will have an elevator so be prepared to use the stairs. All the accommodations will be clean, have a TV, and will have private bath facilities. Air conditioning is not an option but fresh air is abundant. You will be furnished with a list of accommodations and phone numbers before departure. All hotel changes are of equal or higher quality to those listed in the brochure.

Baggage Handling: Baggage will be loaded and unloaded from the van. All other baggage handling will be the responsiblity of the tour participant. Travel Germany will not be responsible for left items. It is recommended that each traveler takes 1 large suitcase only and carry-ons are permitted. Please check with your airline about size and weight.

Meals: A hearty German breakfest is included in the price of the tour. It will usually feature breads, cereal, yogurt, cheese, sausages, coffee, juices, and fruit. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Lunches, dinners, snacks, and alcohol are not included.

Transportation: All ground transportation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland is included in the price of the tour. We will travel by minivan or minibus or car. We will be small groups of 10 or under so we can make frequent stops if we see something that is of interest. We want this to be fun, not a challenge. I will be your driver and I have an excellent driving record in Europe and the US. And yes, I can drive and talk.

Tour Cost: The price of tours described in this brochure includes the specified nights accommendations with breakfast buffet, ground transportation in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, meals as listed, and guide services. Travel Germany does cover the costs of entrance fees to sites listed in the itinerary. The price of the tour does not include airfare from your home city to agreed upon airport. Travel Germany can make your US to agreed upon airport travel arrangements for you but this charge is not included in the price of the tour. If you make your own air reservations, you must be in agreed upon airport by noon on the designated day or the tour will leave without you. Due to considerations to other tour participants, there will be no exceptions. Travel arrangements to connect with the tour at another point will be at your expense.

Insurance: Travel Germany Tours strongly recommends that you purchase travel insurance. Baggage insurance and cancellation insurance can be purchased separately from Travel Germany Tours.

Health Insurance: If you have a health insurance carrier in the US, please call that carrier and confirm your coverage is good in Europe and how to file claims. Medicare, however, is only good in the US so a limited term healthcare insurance might be a good investment. Health care could be very expensive in Germany. We hope there is no need for any type of health insurance, but accidents can happen. Its always a good idea to refill and have an ample supply of your drugs with you.

Itinerary variations: Travel Germany Tours reserves the right to make reasonable changes or substitions to any tour itinerary as we deem necessary, desirable or appropriate.

Passports, Visas, and Other Identification: Citizens of the United States and Canada traveling to Europe must have a valid passport. No visas are required. Citizens of other nations who are resident aliens of the United States must have a valid passport from their country and must carry with them the United States "green card" to re-enter the United States. The name on the passport and the name on the airline tickets must be the same to avoid confusion when airlines check passports upon departures. We request that you furnish us with a photocopy of the information and picture page of your passport as soon as possible. This facilitiates replacement of passports in case of loss or theft, and is necessary for verification of name, age, citizenship when traveling internationally.

Cancellations and Refunds: Any cancellations on the land portion of the tour are subject to the following cancellaltion charges:
  • 60 days prior to departure: deposit fully refundable

  • 59-31 days prior to departure: $200.00 per person fee charged

  • 30-15 days prior to departure: $400.00 per person fee charged
